American Charities Foundation invited over 50 young aviators to experience the opportunity of a lifetime by turning their dreams into reality with a free flight though the EAA Young Eagles program.  This special event was generously sponsored by EAA Chapter 491- Santa Ynez. http://www.eaa491.org

We’d like to thank the E.A.A. Young Eagle pilots as they pass along a legacy, a passion for flight; Sam Burke, Still Chase, Les Clark, Mike Dougherty, John Fisher, Ken Karas, Shawn Knight, Jerry Long, Charlie Plumb, Lloyd Sorensen, and Joan Steinberger.

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

Since 1992, more than 1.5 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight through the program. More than 160,000 people currently belong to EAA, with local chapters located in all 50 states and many countries. Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by more than 42,000 volunteer pilots.  Each child who participated received a Spirit of Flight Certificate and membership to the student EAA, and was also listed in the World’s Largest Logbook.

Aspiring young drivers learned about the skill, determination, and desire it takes to become a NASCAR champion from Christian Copley.  Thanks to K & N’s generosity, Christian Copley and Mike Kappmeyer graciously gave the children participating in our event K&N caps, stickers, and banners.  And, Christian signed his racing photos for the kids.  Thank you Christian Copley Racing Team!

A special thank you, to Sheriffs Department Captain Crew Chief Tom Himmelrich and Pilot Chris Spangenberg for taking the time to teaching the children about the search and rescue / fire fighting helicopter.
